One of my favorite books is “The Slight Edge,” by Jeff Olson. This is one of those books you can read every couple of years because each time you read it, you’re at a different place in your life, so you get something new out of it. The basic principle of the book is that our habits (yes, even those small, seemingly insignificant ones) shape how successful we become. Similar to the examples I shared about the small decisions we make every day, “The Slight Edge” goes into much more detail about how we live in a fast-paced world so we want quick results. We are conditioned to want everything NOW, but it doesn’t work that way. Small steps you can take to create new habits can change your life. It just takes consistency and a little patience.
