Let’s talk about why self-love is so important. The benefits of self-love are infinite.  Self-love contributes to:

  • Increased production of endorphins (the feel-good hormone)
  • Improved emotional wellbeing
  • Less stress
  • Elimination of toxins
  • Disease prevention
  • Improved digestion
  • Decreased blood pressure and a happy heart
  • Weight loss
  • Reduced dependence on pharmaceutical drugs
  • And much, much more

Put simply – self-love amplifies your wellbeing and helps you live longer and better.

We may speak of all we want. We want to love and be loved, we want to be happy and successful, yet we are hypocrites of sorts if we do not take powerful action towards those very things that we say we want!

To be lacking in self love is cutting off our power source for all possibility. It is like being a vessel, a container that has the bottom missing. No amount of affirmations or accolades from others will fill our bucket, if we cannot recognize it from our own foundation of self love.

This is a very sad state of being because we might have every single thing we desire, already right here in our lives, and not be able to grasp it, as we stand in a place of self hatred. It is like having a tree filled with amazing ripe fruit but we are unable to access it, even though it is right in front of us.

But you can change all of that.

Start by understanding what “self love” is:

Self love means:

To embrace yourself fully, with all your “flaws” and in all your perfection, your weaknesses and your strengths, your ups and your downs, your highs and your lows, every part of you.

To love yourself fully, not based on the color of your hair or eyes, your flat or rollover belly, your feet or your toes, but who you are as a person.

You choose your life, regardless of the expectations placed upon you by others, and live your own life, doing what you love most.
