I had first met Dana when I did my first ever juice detox. That experience was so amazing on many levels; I was sure there was no way I would spend five whole days without any other food. But I did. I enjoyed it and it did me a lot of good; I lost weight, I felt lighter and cleaner inside! When she announced her cleanse program on line towards the end of the year, it fell naturally into my New year’s resolutions to step up the taking care of me path. I had had a strange summer, a confusion of loss and happy moments. I needed to clean out my brain, heart and soul and I had already decided on a desert camping adventure so I was ready to take on other first times!
My only hesitation was the length of time and the “on line” feature of Dana’s program. I booked anyway and my daughter also agreed to share the experience. I was looking forward to it until I received the documents, they were overwhelming! I began to get confused with the amount of information although I must admit some of these NEW recipes for clean eating were intriguing. I did my best to skim through most of it. It is only when the program actually started and with the daily instructions and support that my understanding and appreciation of the documents began.
One challenging feature was to prepare the required ingredients at the needed time. I must admit I learnt a lot about what and where to look for the clean produce. Once I figured out the breakfast routine and attempted to make some of the recommended daily salads and soups I began to enjoy both the preparation and the finished meals. They were all delicious and what started as a possible difficulty ended up as a great addition to my improving life style.
Today I have decided to adopt good clean eating as a matter of course. I continue to enjoy my morning elixir and my breakfast smoothie. I have perfected a few new recipes for lunches and dinner and dessert and continue to experiment with more.
The fact is I am less hungry, I almost have no cravings and I feel lighter and happier. I did have a break of routine and appreciate that experience. Eating the OLD stuff was not a mistake just a learning of what doesn’t feel good for my system. I have managed a number of lunch and dinner invitations, some better than others.
I am grateful to Dana, for her daily support and especially for the group page, the cleansing troopers were fun, informative and supportive. More importantly, the changes on the mental and emotional levels were fascinating. Although I have not actually managed ALL the great recommendations, the journaling, the daily body brush, the tongue cleanse and the food journal kept me busy yet provided grounding and a sense of joy to take care of my mind and body. My mood is calm, confident and content. I find that I can face many of my previous fears with ease and no stress. Thank you all for a wonderful adventure and discovery of a different way to nourish mind body and soul as my journey of life continues.
