If you know me or you’ve worked with me, you know that I’m all about clean eating, gluten-free, sugar-free, processed-free food. But I also teach “real life” so you also know that I love to indulge on holidays and special occasions. That hasn’t changed since I became a health coach. I teach the 80/20 theory and that means eating super clean and healthy 80% of the time and allowing yourself wiggle room 20% of the time. Mother’s Day falls under the 20% category. Unless you have celiac disease, an autoimmune disease, or any other serious health issue, there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy traditional treats and sweets every once in awhile.
What has changed for me are the KINDS of indulgent foods I still buy. I don’t buy anything mass-made in a factory or sold in commercial stores (you really don’t know what goes in there) and I make sure I upgrade all the ingredients of anything I make at home. I choose hand-crafted items that are carefully and lovingly made by people who truly love what they do and are passionate about sharing their products with the world.
And so you will find the options I’ve given you, whether bought or homemade, are of the upmost quality and taste.
I’ve put together this menu for you that incorporates super indulgent favourites like chocolate cake with really healthy varieties as well.

Assorted Truffles
Amaretti by Mai
Dark chocolate covered in cocoa
Milk chocolate with pistachio
Milk chocolate with coconut
Milk chocolate with caramelized pecan
All truffles have no added sugar, just some honey in order to appreciate the chocolate more. The chocolate has a pungent aroma and an unforgettable taste that will linger in your mouth longer than you would ever expect it to. The cream used to make the truffles is a vegan based cream that is light and does not leave you feeling too heavy.
Dark chocolate and cocoa are always a good combination but it is definitely not for everybody. If you prefer an intense bitter taste with a strong aroma, this one is for you.
The milk chocolate truffles are 40% cocoa without any added sugar other than what is in the chocolate, also sweetened with a little honey. These chocolate truffle have a very smooth and creamy texture with nuts adding a bit of crunch.
